Can you help me? injured at work and looking to get compensation. (not faking it or taking advantage)?
The first thing you should do is fill out an IOD (Injury On Duty) form. Your job is required to carry this form, and is required to give it to you when injured on the job. In this form you will fill in all the information relating to the injury. Next, take the time off and go to your doctor. Be sure that the doctor takes Worker's Compensation cases. They will have you fill out the required forms. You do not have to pay the doctor anything. And most important, get a Worker's Comp lawyer. This lawyer will guide you through every step of the way in collecting Worker's Compensation payments, and anything else relating to it. Do not waste time and follow these steps right away. Your employer is in the wrong. You should have been wearing a hard hat. Expect your employer to fight the case. If you do not have yourself checked out, the injury you currently have can become worse. Don't try to go to work and heal yourself. You got hit on the head, this is serious. Ir could be nothing, but you will never know until you get checked out. For your own sake, don't sit on this, and don't be afraid of your employer. Take action now!
